ACUMULACIÓN DE NUTRIENTES EN RODALES NATURALES DE LENGA
(Nothofagus pumilio) EN MAGALLANES, CHILE |
|
Juan
Caldentey
N, 12,3% to K, 5,2% to Mg, 2,5% to P y el restante 0.8 % es repartido

The
aim of this study was to analize the nutrient levels in Lenga (Nothofagus
pumilio) forests, growing at 600 meters above sea level in the
province of Ultima Esperanza, in Magallanes, Chile.
Allomatric
equations were developed, based on destructive sampling in order
to estimate the biomass. Nutrient contents were estimated considering
biomass and chemical analisis of samples from different components
of the trees.
Total
biomass was estimated at 324 tons dry weight (tdw)/ha. No significant
differences were noted throughout the forest development stages.
The
total nutrients contents were estimated at 1,304 kg/ha wich 48.7%
corresponded to Ca, 28.0% to N, 12.3% to K, 5.2 % to Mg, 2.5% to
Mn, 2.5% to P. The remaining 0.8% corresponded to Cu, Fe and Zn.
No great differences in nutrient contents were noted between forest
development stages.
